Concerning the attendance of Children.
The Brewer’s Apprentice has never forbidden children from coming with their parents however we do discourage this. Our store does not have a child friendly environment. We have boiling wort in the kettles, chemicals and cleaners , concrete floors and glass bottles. As mothers ourselves we worry when children are under foot.

Some things to think about when planning your party.....

Crafting your wine or beer with us is a two-visit process. Consider whether your party would be more enjoyable thrown on the day that you make your wine or beer or on the bottling day. The third option is to combine the two. Pre-make a portion of your products and then your party will be both making and bottling on the same day. Please realize that this will require three visits instead of two.

Making beer is a 2-3 hour process that involves measuring, cooking and following exact directions. It is interesting but does have “down time” while the wort is cooking. Each batch of cooking wort (unfermented beer) does require that one person per batch be paying complete attention to the brewing process.

Wine making is done from wine kits. These kits produce excellent wine but do not require much effort on the customers part. The entire process takes about 20 minutes per batch and needs the work of one individual.

Bottling your beer is scheduled approximately 2 weeks after your brewing day. Bottling beer is a two hour process and requires the labor of two individuals per batch. You are free to sample your beer at this time. Customized labels are provided for all the bottles.

Wine bottling is scheduled for at least five weeks to seven weeks after you make it. Wine bottling is more involved than the beer and can have as many as four individuals involved. Although the wine is now a finished product additional aging time is required for all red wines to be at their best. Customized labels are provided for all the wine bottles.
