A good beer for a brewer wanting to experiment with wheat ingredients. Please call ahead 72 hours to request a Hefeweissen yeast starter. $175.00
This beer is named after the special wheat yeast we used to make it. This yeast creates a wheat in which Banana and Clove aroma and flavor are present. This is the recipe if you are looking for the most "traditional" German Wheat. Highly recommended by Jo-Ellen. Please call ahead 72 hours to request a Hefeweissen yeast starter. $170.00
*Please note: Advance notice (72 hours) required for yeast preparation
**Please note that effective May 15, 2002, all Wheat, Belgian, many heavier stouts and porters and any beer using Fruit Puree will be bottle conditioned only. Bottle conditioning requires a secondary fermentation in the bottle (stored at room temperature) for 2 weeks. So be aware that the time needed for the beer to be drinkable is one month from brew day (bottling date is uneffected).
We sometimes have customers ask if we have a beer "...that's like Bass..." or one of the other popular commercial brews. Some of our recipes, listed here, were developed intentionally as direct clones, but don't let this list steer you away from the other 130 superb recipes above!
